Cosmic Tale
The sun was just a young star
It's glow, not so visible from afar
Traveling along his trajectory's light
He came across a lovely satellite
Beautiful and round in all her glory
It was to the moon that he fell quarry
But she had no use for a faded spark
For her battle was against the scary dark
The sun saw this, and on, he went
On a path, an errand he wasn't sent
To be the brightest star in his galaxy
To light every land and every sea
Time went by, and his work was done
His blazing light shone on everyone
On he went to claim his prize
Before he wearies and his light dies
He didn't know his light came at a cost
All he touched was torched and lost
The blazing fiery furnace he was
Had shut all of camaraderie's doors
He approached the moon, haughty and vain
Pleased his garment of ego, bore no stain
Alas, she turned him down, on earth's advice
And to the burning sun, she was cold as ice
Though their existence would be parallel
The moon grew a love she couldn't tell
For her father, earth, was against their love
So, she would not speak of this love thereof
Now we all wait for earth's death
In hopes to see their love's rebirth
A tale of endurance… the saddest prose
How it will end, no one knows
