Look at me
Through your reflection.
Mirror steamed in self esteem
You are beautiful
The world is not as it seems.
All the tears you shed last night
Will mean nothing 10 years from now.
Your life is not determined
By the noise around you.
Wipe the steam from the glass
See our eyes looking through you,
Every piece of you is in me
You have the world at your fingertips.
Yet your skin is soaked in doubt
Let these words wash over you.
I will stand and watch
Those tears you mask
With a shower.
Hold on little girl
Dry your hair ,wipe your face
You will find your place.
So much will happen between now and then, you will bury two best friends.
Remember to kiss Brian
Instead of making other plans
He will not be alive after tonight.
He believed in you,
Long before you believed in yourself
He just didn’t believe in living long enough.
Spend more time with Nikki.
She has held the weight for you
Carried your anchor as you became her ship, she loved life, she loved you.
Cystic fibrosis will take her from this place… Remember her life was fought all the way through.
She wanted to survive when all else was lost.
Lay lilies on the grave of the ones you Really loved , except you.
Don’t bury yourself in ghost, they are in their final resting place.
Stop screaming at your parents, they cannot control what this earth takes , they just want their daughter back.
Remember to love and hold on tighter
To those who held your hand when it really mattered. I pray you find hope beyond those green eyes, walk within the truth … Not in lies.
Dry your skin, it covers your flesh.
Holds your soul behind curtains , the one you never let in.
That little voice, that tells you to think twice, she is me.. Listen to her words, they have a lot to say.
Wipe the lipstick off your lips, you don’t have to be that girl.
Show the world the real you, and what you have to hold. They will still love you, when you cannot love yourself….
