Words pounding in my head,

Begging to escape,

To be read

Thoughts, ideas, emotions,

Forming together,

Longing to be written

Slivers of my soul,

Wishing to be known

Parts of myself,

Steeped in ink,

Ready to be pressed

Against the blank sheet

Thoughts, ideas, emotions,

I must express,

To give my mind a break,

My heart a rest

The only outlet I need,

The only addiction I heed
