Something’s Off
I am not myself.
I am a walking body
That looks like me.
My brain is not connecting
My thoughts and my actions
Like they used to.
I find it hard to focus.
My ears tell my brain
Not to think,
Not to focus.
My body does not want
To move the way
Other’s peoples do,
The way mine used to.
My eyes want to shut
To the quietness of the dark
Beneth my eyelids.
