On Good Food
I challenge any mind that takes itself seriously, any mind whose body does not suffer from the ailments that excess in food and drink might bring about, to try to think deeply about the objects of their interests or disciplines while indulging in the maximum pleasures our sense of taste can bring.
I myself have found it to be quite impossible.
We are arrogant creatures with ambitious goals that believe ourselves destined towards lofty achievements. All the while we salivate like dogs over good food and wine, we masturbate and orgasm at images of beautiful bodies, willing slaves to pleasures of every sense.
So what is the point of all our seriousness, of all our doubts and indecisions, of all our thoughts of virtue? Leave them to those intelligent minds dumb or sick enough to not enjoy a plate of good food, while you can.
