They Hailed Him Father To A Line Of Kings
O son, my sun won’t set with you.
The day brings forth so many things.
The years to do them, so few.
With some, age brings only the hoary head.
From childhood to grave, no wiser, just dead.
But others seek to learn a thing.
Live the tale that life can bring.
And some would live it with a drink.
To ease their burden, pull from the brink.
And some would live, head hung in sorrow.
Live today, Hell comes tomorrow.
But I would like to live my life, with a little wisdom, short on strife.
With love and battles, lost or won, and now and then, a little fun.
With few regrets, but many lessons.
With many things, but few possessions.
And if I could, I’d give this this same to you.
In hope your life, would be worthy too.
