Fiction or non-fiction, poetry or Prose.
If, even by accident, or by chance,
But a single hollow glance,
You would bestow upon me crudely.
I would denounce it the worst kind of cruelty.
For the spark that I have found, curated,
And of which, I am most proud.
For the spark in your eyes,
Should never be allowed to go out.
And I fear it most of all.
That the spark I call my own.
Will dim and fall.
That a new chapter will dawn.
And I'll be released from my thrall.
Left, once more, on my own.
