Literally.
Callie stood, her feet at the edge of the cliff. Everytime she moved, more pebbles skittered down the cliff. She looked up at the woman, clad all in purple, her gloved hands clasped.
"Please, darling, calm yourself," the woman purred, her thick Parisian accent working her way into Callie's mind.
"No!" Callie shook her head, shifting backwards. More pebbles. "I'm done listening to you! I'm DONE!"
"Please, I wish you no harm. If you would just listen-" Purple Lady tried to say, but Callie just stated yelling over her.
"NO! NO, NO, NO, NO, NO!" Callie grabbed her skull, her feet trying to back up, but finding no surface. Callie almost fell, but she caught herself. "I'm done with you and your stupid, monster friends!"
The woman sighed, shaking her head. "You've been told that lie, have you?"
"What lie? The only lies I've heard came from you!" Callie snapped. "You monsters, prerying on humans like this. Thinking you're stronger, superior."
The woman was silent. Then, she started laughing.
"What? What's so funny?" Callie snapped again, growing angrier.
"Is that what those lowlifes told you?" the woman shook with giggles, her hand over her mouth. "That we want to kill you? Eat you?
"Well, yeah. It's true, isn't it?" Callie frowned, her hands clenched in fists.
"Ah, I haven't laughed that hard in years. But, to answer your question, not one bit," the woman said, wiping her eyes. "If you must know, humans are revolting. Why would we eat them?"
"Wait, what?"
"So filled with fried foods, starch, fat, and acids." the woman cringed, gagging. "I'd rather eat a rat, which is clearly the healthier alternative. Not to mention, they told you that you were human? That was also a lie."
"What!? I don't-?" Callie got cut short as she stepped back and found air, then she was falling. She grabbed a rock that was standing out, scraping her hands. She looked down and all she saw was rocks and water.
This was not how she expected things to go.
