ray of sunshine
the fruits of her labor
the flavors they steep
as the warmth of her wisdom
melts in the soft heat
golden flowers of meadows
a core sugar sweet
her light could turn snow
into puddles of sleet
her strawberry heart
beats with the bright wind
as I smile and I wave
saying ‘see you again’
...
I looked in your eyes
the very next day
a cave of black darkness
a smile slipped away
a beautiful being
a mind of disarray
you’ve been my sun for so long
that you’ve lost all your rays
but I feel your warmth glistening
under building cold ice
I’ll take in your darkness
no matter the price
and while you’ll rise as the sun
I’ll watch as the moon
as I’ll smile and I’ll say
‘I’ll see you soon’
