I fight for love

for the alternative

is abhorrent

soul-withering

detrimental to all

that is good in this life

to all that brings

joy and laughter

warmth and caring;

I fight for love

always hoping to reap

what I sow

to encourage that which

I long to see

in others and the world

to diminish the hold

of loneliness

malice and hate;

I fight for love

to inspire others

to do the same

so all who walk with me

if only for

a brief moment in time

feel touched by kindness

and inspired…

to pass it on.
