Red

Loneliness is red.

When it comes it sinks

And pulls at your insides,

Dragging your spirit down

Into a world without light.

It gets under your skin

And stays there flowing

Among the blood pumping.

It's empty weight, and it's

Bursting at your seams.

It's so heavy that you try to

Release just a little, so it comes

Pouring through your eyes;

However, each tear only seems to

Draw you deeper deeper down.

The only thing strong enough to

Pull you from the inner flame.

Is somebody else calling your name
