Challenge
Poetry contest. Twenty word minimum. First place will be decided based on the poem, of course, though the number of comments posted by others will be factored in (critiques or praise, no one word or three word quickies) and those who comment should "like" it to keep the judges looking for updated reads. Write a poem about anything. Aim for the gut. Winner gets $100.
The Memories Of Oblivion
Thy warmth of lap thy glittering eyes
I would not trade for seven skies.
I do prevail because thou prevail
Its love so pure no god could buy
Thou granted strength for me to rise
And stand amidst the clan of wise
A valiant heart that thou has bred
Its cause of milk a lioness fed
An angel guards me all night long
Thy prayer has cast away all wrong
Throughout the night she watches me
And sings me lullabies all night long
Thou art love carved goddess of mine
May thou flourish forever and shine.
