Enough Angels for Second Serving
There is simply not enough angels in the world.
Humanity begins with two, then another two. It was easy, then. Us angels watched over them, shielded them from all harm until they fell from their own misdeeds.
Even when the pair of two became two hundred, two thousand, then two hundred thousand, angels were still a meaningful existence. It was easy to offer salvation when we appeared and everyone believed.
But that mercy has dissipated two millennia ago. When they condemned the Child of God, they condemned everything. Man no longer fears, faith becomes a weapon they wield. Misdeeds flow forth beyond prayers, and there isn’t enough angels to protect everyone from the sins others committed.
The past has judged the world, once. Let the future judge them twice.
The sky shall weep, the earth trembles as stars fall and burn. Death shall come and death shall thrive.
When humanity begins cycle two, the world shall have its angels again.
