The urge to build a bridge keeps tugging

Because I'm way past just feeling better now

I'm a different person these new days.

Yes, it took a while to find this version

This one I've rebooted and I've upgraded

But I do miss parts of you that were my friend

They were good parts that meshed with mine

I can no longer say that I know you

But I can always say that I did a while.

I felt a genuine pleasure today

When I saw a picture of you smiling

You're in a universe that I'm not in

But that's ok, because you're ok.

In fact, you look more than ok

You look so very, very happy

It surprised me how much it warmed me

It's inevitable that our paths will cross

When they do, I hope there's smiles left.
