Running Out of Tears
Tears run down the face of Day
Pastel tints her bed, she lays
Eve’ yields thoughts of yesterdays
Wound on reels, remembrance plays
Waves flood cavern’s hollow core
Streams flow to forevermore
Bound to half a heart that soars
Where Heaven meets Horizon’s shore
Pouring out, the quill, heart stirs
Black and blue ink, I rehearse
Life, before death spoke its curse
Shade between each line of verse
Unraveled thoughts of threads entwined
Cobalt stained with merlot wine
Garnet weeps from harvest’s vine
Day, she sleeps, her pulse flatlines

Sun, setting on a soul, enshrined
’Morrow’s dreams in moonlight’s shade
Hope holds on as memories fade
Running toward the Dawn’s new day
When sunlight, tears, evaporates
