Across The Galaxy
I hate it,
The way my legs wobble,
collapsing beneath me,
And I’m only barely past the stream of dust.
As my arms still reach, pumping forward,
Darkness encases me, blotting my vision.
Nothing meets my flailing limbs,
But cubes of cold, bitter light,
Bringing no warmth,
And only sucking the darkness
Closer in.
I call out, Please! Come Back!
But you never responded.
Now I am a puddle of tears,
Of sweat,
Of regret,
My hair tangled in my frosty fingertips.
I know when I should leave,
I know when I’m not wanted.
But I love you,
And have run across the galaxy
To find you.
