Loosening the Bricks

She winced as the white hot light ripped through the brick and mortar.

Heat radiated though the dark and danced on her dirty arm held up to shield her squinting eyes.

It didn't take over long for the warmth to remind her how cold she'd been.... How long seemed immeasurable.

A surprising strength came over her as she clawed her way out from behind the dungeon walls until finally she allowed herself to be immersed it the searing glow.
