Challenge
She laid down on the ground and let me trace her outline. I made sure that the lines were rich and prominent in my attempt to make this moment last. I needed it Incase a day were to come in which I’d need evidence to prove that she was ever even real.
She was short of breath, holding my hand,
She laid on her back, not letting go,
I traced her out, with my deep emotions etched,
She closed her eyes, with no regret.
This abandoned child in the mountains,
Is now with someone greater, maybe not,
but these few moments into the twilight,
are the ones which will burn my heart outright.
