Pride Through Association
The saying is true that you pick up habits and thought patterns of those you spend alot of time around.
Never do we think this will be a negative association. We are most often drawn to those with similar ideas and traits. However, when one has a more dominant hidden trait we often times miss the red flags. When the flags slowly start emerging, we think it’s not that bad; it’s not that often so we purposefully over look them!
Not realizing this is done slowly and carefully on purpose to desensitize us to what is really going on. By the time we see and after ignoring our gut instinct, it’s to late.
We have fallen victim into a trap strategically and carefully constructed and we find ourselves thinking like the other person and isolated from trying to think for ourselves any longer!
Our opinions and thoughts no longer matter and are most definitely not respected or heard. The pride of the victor has over taken the victim and they find themselves second guessing everything they thought they knew, yet shoving the ideas of the victor down everyone else’s throats because they are no longer their own person.
By the time all is brought to the light you find yourself disappointed, embarrassed, a bit angry at them but mostly your self for ending up prideful through association!
Always follow your gut instinct and never ignore red flags!
