Bee-trayed

A hopeful bumble bee's betrayed

by summer heat in fall-

the next day's cold front brings some rain;

he cannot move at all.

No surplus pollen will be brought

back to his cozy hive-

his flight is lazy and distraught;

he won't get back alive.

***Inspired by a wet, cold bee I found the day after a lovely warm spell broke and temperatures became seasonal again.
