The Dragon’s Belly

Inspiration is hard to come by. Elusive, even. It darts from the corner of your eye once you think you’ve found it, like a fox running back to its den. And even if you do happen upon it, like an ox it is stubborn. It’s there, but how to make it move, you wonder. How are you supposed to draw what you so dearly crave from it?

Though you finally grasp inspiration, it could be dangerous. Like the fiery depths of a dragon’s belly, it could ignite a firestorm you were clueless to. It could burn you up and leave you a smoking husk of a body.

But from the ashes, like a phoenix, could come new inspiration. Rising from the dust, spreading its elegant wings, it could cause many to turn their heads away from bleak lives to follow something meaningful, something wholesome, something inspiring.
