Forest Nymph
You wrapped me in the scarlet silks of your soul.
You decorated me with the glistening jewels of your sapphire love, amethyst care and emerald hope.
You braided my soul in perfect arrangements, bringing me to my knees, bending my nature to your desire.
You scattered flowers across my chest, hiding my body from others’ hungry eyes.
But then a piece came loose in your perfect braid,
a flower started wilting
and your jewels lost their spark.
You threw blameful words my way, accusing me of destroying our dreams, as I tried to perfect it.
I painted the flowers, covering their tired petals.
I tucked the loose end behind my heart.
I polished the jewels, begging for them to gleam in the light of your forest eyes.
And you simply laughed, uncurling the facade you moulded.
And you left never looking back.
