Then/Now

In the mirror, lights ablaze,

She sees seraphic smiles

Looking at her, love's gaze,

and she smiles.

But it's one void of veracious light

Bedimmed by the endless toil

Erased by the endless nights.

These things, her luminescence foils.

Who disremembered her gaze?

What mishappened to her self?

Where distasteful things do go to graze?

When misplaced was she onto a shelf?

In the shadow, darkness falls.

She sees the devil's grin.
