Challenge
two sides of the same story
Think back to an argument, an issue, or a fight you've had with another person. Now, tell the story from their point of view.
Poetry or prose.
Tag me in entries!
the boy in red.
you probably saw me first.
clad in red, i didn’t.
i was friendly, i played nice.
friendly, isn’t ‘i like you’.
nice, isn’t ‘i know you like me too’.
i thought you would just pass me by.
didn’t think touching your hand was part of the trick.
didn’t think hugging pulled me closer to the trap.
until i forced your show of cards.
saw ‘i love you’ scrawled on every one.
i saw the future first.
covered with hearts, you didn’t.
so i left early, avoided the sorry.
no goodbye, i didn’t want to see you cry.
to end this madness, i turned my head.
smiled at another, hugged her.
you probably cried first.
me clad in guilt, tried not to.
