Thirst

Awake

Wide – in that ungodly hour

A sore and red,

Ballistic craving

burning through the throat.

So flies off the covers

off frigid into the arctic night –

Two slippers out

and wondering about the darkened room

In search of dear Oasis, there,

Amidst the mirage of shadows by candlelight
