Challenge
Your point of view:
Parents are the best decision makers for their children. Are they? Aren't they?
Convince me the best way you can imagine.
No one makes perfect choices.
That sums it up. I'm a new parent and constantly fear doing saying or just acting in a way that will hurt my daughter, now or in the future.
But it's inevitable. It follows the uncertainty principal. The more I know about the situation, the less I ultimately know about the result, just because my behavior is focused on the now. It goes the other way too, the more I'm focused on the future, the less involved I become in immediate needs. No one grows up without problems or scars, there is no way to avoid it. I just hope I will do better for my baby, and leave her better off.
