Scavenger Santa
As a single mother of two the holidays have always been extremely stressful. In order to make Christmas morning last longer with only a couple of presents for each child I created Scavenger Santa. Katie and Mark would take turns reading a handwritten rhyme which served as a clue as to where the next hint would be leading them to their actual gift. At first, Mark acted annoyed by the game but he couldn’t help but enjoy the brain tease and mystery of it all. Now, they are adults and this year we chose to celebrate the holidays enjoying each others presence as a present. We will play Taboo and Pictionary while sipping Egg Nog and close out the day with Christmas Karaoke. That decision has made this year one I can look forward to rather than freak out about. This will be our first Christmas sans Santa. Cheers to hoping this tradition sticks. Merry Merry and lovelove!!
