It’s New

Isn't that just typical human behavior something new special unexpected needed comes along and we are thrilled in all sorts of ways. New cars new clothes new jewelery new furniture. Such a pleasure we think about it we want to tell people about it. It's New we wake up just to make sure it's still there.

So maybe I can try to put the same perspective on this new year. Get excited see the value look at the possibilities. Maybe a big event will occur to change everything. Get that it's New and I love it feeling.

Ah heck who am I kidding? There really isn't any such thing. Years aren't a tangible thing like a car or a ring. They are years. There isn't any one thing I can to make this year any better or worse than previous ones.

If I were to put any faith in the promise of this new year. It would be that by gaining more experience and changing with age I might be more patient and graceful in my reactions. Maybe stay calm when facing some daily crisis.

Sure the year is new again. How new depends on the commitment there is to making things new again. So here's to me give it your best. Mistakes are going to be made poor choices are going to end in poor results always. Only stick to your your resolutions and commit to the best. Keep the new all through the year

This year could be a game changer if I let it. My job bills family relationships. Don't forget this is a new year. So if I keep this new optimism remember it's New and isn't new what we all love.

So why did I need a number to change on my calendar before I got all this inspiration? Seems I could have done it sooner. Oh I Know why it's all this holiday mush. Get caught up Christmas is here. If that wasn't bad enough next comes a celebration for a new year.

Since I've been suckered in to this end of the year circus type stuff. May as well go all in and agree that the change of the year can change me too. I surely must remember my new attitude for this new when Valentine's day comes along.

Maybe I shouldn't put to much stock in this new new year stuff. Because I'm not sure I'm going to measure up. See I knew all this Christmas fantasy and new year beginning dream was just a big fraud to get people's money.

So now because all of that Christmas stuff didn't perform as promised maybe the illusion of the new year will make it all better. Wouldn't think so.

All in all the new year pitch does have the most attention. Sure it's just a change in numbers but the calendar is a pretty sure bet. People have been using it for some time. So sure I'll put in my hat goal: be conscious in making 2020 my best yet.
