Broken Eyelid

Just when I think the day is done,

My eyes start to close, but only one.

I'm tired and restless, nothing to do.

I want to be sleep and dream too.

My mind is on a whirlwind of ideas and creativity.

I never thought I couldn't sleep with this longevity.

Work me, control me, make me dream.

Show me movies and crazy schemes.

Take me to places my mind never goes.

Take me the distance to theaters and shows.

Let me wake in the morning, knowing my body gave up.

Not being able to sleep......................that sucks!
