Rum ‘n’ Biscuits
She tossed a couple eye balls into the cauldron, then squeezed some lime into the portion. The substance fizzed and hissed like it was about to explode.
A quick burst of smoke rose from the cauldron. She snapped her fingers, and the substance swirled around & around~
It spun and it’s colour started to change- from a bright green, to a dazzling and burning crimson. It looked like a flame.
She turned the pages of an ancient scroll and uttered the words in a gentle, but strong whisper. The ground started to shake.
A hand rose out from the floor and something squinted it’s eye sockets. It looked at her and shook its head. ‘‘Why have I been summoned?’’
Her eyes opened wide with delight. She clapped her hands, and chuckled. This was her first contact with a being from the netherworld.
She moved around and walked closer to the being. He gasped. Her eyes were quite familiar.
The same eyes that had been at the park before he had taken his last breath. This time the violet eyes did not cause him any harm.
She clasped her hands and said: ‘I’m sorry I caused your early death.’ He didn’t know what to say. All he wanted was to head back to his new home.
He placed a hand on her shoulder. ‘Let bygones be bygones— please- could you send me back?’
‘All right. I don’t mind. Before you go~ would you like to have a biscuit?’
He smiled and soon they were both enjoying a cup of rum, to go with their biscuits.
