From the very first breath,

We think about ourselves,

My pains, My hardships, My darkness,

All my loneliness.

I ponder about the endless dreams unfulfilled,

The countless efforts in the dustbin,

This world is so skilled,

And after a defeat I am a failure and a hero after a win.

When my parents look at me with all those aspirations,

And my companions with slithering comparisions,

And I look in the mirror with an overpowering frusteration.

But then I see around myself,

And I see what people need is just a friend-

Light, just like me,

A dream, just like me,

Love, just like me,

Life- just like me,

Friends, just like me,

Someone to say it's Okay, YOU ARE PERFECT JUST THE WAY YOU ARE.

And I realize I could be that friend,

And being that person changed me forever,

Made me who I wanted to be,

Just because I realized that you are, just like me.
