Inconsistency

Why is it

that the man who bought me two books

on our first date,

saying that it was the price of two drinks anyway

Is the same man who pressured me on the second date?

Why is it

that the best men

are always the inconsistent ones?

Why do women have to

compromise

consistently

for mediocre men?

I told a man I didn’t want to sleep with him

and now I’m getting the silent treatment.

Is this just

immaturity? Or my destiny?
