The cosmos is not romantic
Stars, planets, space, all the phenomena in the sky and beyond. Write about how it's not charming and romantic! We've gotten into the good practice of finding beauty and appreciating the details of life and unconventional places to find inspiration, but I'm asking you to do the opposite.
Anti-romanticize outer space and convince us they're not beautiful
cosmo-not
what is this poetry
you've sold your soul to write?
in what universe is love akin
to thousands of dots in the sky?
what is it about the cold vacuum of
space that you find so inviting?
that kind of love is nothing good,
it is the furthest from warmth you'll find.
it's as unforgiving as a car crash,
already ancient in its perminance
and empty. so very empty.
do you really want a love devoid of life?
the universe is a terrifying thing, i think
you should reconsider your prose.
love shouldn't be compared to some
vast, untouchable thing.
it should be something within reach.
something we can see within our periphery.
because love can be so unbelieveably scary.
and it's intimidating to live up to poetry.
