Iced tea and peach sausages

Sittin alone, figurin just what to do

Grass is cut, some wire stripped and contemplating what’s next in this solitude

Had a late breakfast that wasn’t much

With this time of day, gotta eat a small lunch

Trucks roaring in the background while listening to a red head from Kentucky

Wailing about struggles in the mine and born in a life so unlucky

It’s funny, while taking a sip

And thinking about things for a bit

How crazy it is that a drunk man from Alabama

Could’ve inspired so many in different genres that make up true Americana

Downing another bite

Flavors blending together is such a delight

Sweet and savory is my cue

While some time to grammatically grow is overdue

Crawling into the pit

Of inspiration to dwell and never quit

Bags empty glass half full

A bag of Dukes is never dull

Feeling a slight kick of energy

After some peach sausages and Iced Tea
