Feeling New

She gave me some makeup

And a bunch of new clothes

And lo and behold,

I began to let go.

I got a new haircut.

Dyed the ends blue.

That person I knew

Went away too.

I can look in the mirror,

I have moved on.

That timid, shy girl

Is finally gone.
