Poem
Write a poem about anything.
IN TRANCE
Unto all the follies
I lived by
unto all imaginings,
unthought-of, felt,
through the rummages of
edifices I've built—
hundreds of which I pictured
to be much more than
what I am.
For the meanings
I conjure
to justify my being,
all the places I've never been
in to.
I long to go,
all in one piece,
until I've reached myself.
That which fades
as the sound of the piano
silences,
the noise of the memories
mutes my indifference.
I have been a child,
and unto my mind are remembrances
of memories I do not own.
A life from another world,
a mind from another being.
I shift unto
a non-existent me,
dreary of all possibilities.
