pieces of me

in the eyes of a stranger,

i discover my soul.

by the touch of a child,

i am suddenly whole.

by the kiss of a lover,

i am reborn.

by the smile of friend,

my story’s retold.

in the blackened night sky

by the light of stars,

i see a segment of myself

floating around.

for i am constantly finding pieces of me
