The author of these series has confirmed that Percy was inspired by one of his students.

For those of you who don’t know, Percy Jackson is a demigod son of poseidon and a descendant of Neptune. He’s dating Annabeth Chase, the badass daughter of Athena who dreams of becoming an architect.

The kid who inspired Rick Riordan had ADHD and Dyslexia, just like Percy Jackson and every other demigod. They’re dyslexic because they’re wired to read ancient greek (or latin if they’re a roman demigod).

Anyway, why do I have such a huge crush on him? I don’t know. I mean he’s different from 99% of the male population. No offense to all the guys out there.

In some ways he reminds me of my boyfriend. The sass, the respectfulness, and their love for their girlfriend!

However, I know my boyfriend is much better for me. Not just because he’s not fictional.

I am curious from time to time about the kid Percy is based on. Partially due to my brother’s dyslexia and ADHD. I’d like to think if we’d ever met, I could ask him about overcoming ADHD and Dyslexia. I’d also like to know if his personality actually matched Percy’s. Who knows, maybe we’d become friends.

Would I try to find him or pursue a relationship with him? No... I’m happy with my relationship for one. Also I want to date for love, not some silly school girl crush. And truthfully, I’ve been growing out of that crush.
