Alan
His funeral was brightened by
A clergy's special gift
Flowers reaching to the sky
He handed parents this
Sunflower given just last year
In hopes of easing pain
The son they held so very dear
They would not see again
I watched and could not understand
The wrenching they did feel
Lovely flower, shaking hand
His death was just too real
I am his aunt his favorite
Sunflowers and good times
The booze he was not made for it
Alan crossing danger lines
I have sunflowers by the tree
Alan sees them there
They will keep reminding me
How much I truly care
