No question
i have played many instruments. some archeic, like a harpsicord, a clavicin, a full cathedral organ. i've playd the sax, the clarinet, the oboe.
i have plucked a lute, and a guitar, a cello.
but nothing . nothing comes close to playing a well tuned grand piano.
sitting in front of this giant, you feel vibration through your fingers. you feel the strength of every note you play. waves go from the massive soundboard, hitting you with the purest of sounds.
you might grow deaf, if you play like this over time (my hearing range was definitely affected) but it is soooo satisfying. the instruments respkbds in such a range of articulation, from almost non existant overtones, to full blast. NO other instrument affords such a range in such ease.
comparing a grand piano to a standing piano is like comparing a mcdonald's cheeseburger to a home made monster, with blue cheese and bacon. its essentially the same food, but it is so not.
even people who cant play at all, will feel something, if they sit in front of a grand and try dabbling.
