So Little Time
Could’ve found the greenest rolling hills
Could’ve climbed a great mountainous peak
With just one day, I’d spend it this way-
All the places I’d seek!
I’d scout for lions under the sun
And eagles in the sky
So much wildlife I wish I’d seen
Before the day I die
I’d search for mermaids in the sea
Or watch for a UFO
So many mysteries unanswered
So many things I’ll never know
I wouldn’t resist any new dish
I’d enjoy every flavor
Spices from Asia or European sweets
Every taste I’d savor!
I might even smoke some psychedelic drug
Or try my luck with shrooms
With so little time, it might be divine
And what have I got to lose?
But I don’t have a month, a week or a day
And it’s time to accept my fate
With only one hour I must be clear
And I hope it’s not too late
The very last thing I’d want to see
Is your smiling, familiar face
And the very last place I’d want to be
Is wrapped in your embrace
My life wasn’t perfect, I’ve made some mistakes
Though I’ve tried to live it true
And nothing else matters, but this final hour
If I can love and be loved by you
