the more I live the more and more I begin to see
that maybe we are the way we are because it’s meant to be
that maybe the the “faults” we were given aren’t faults at all
that you were meant to be short and I, tall
that maybe my hair was meant to be dirty blonde
and my face to have blemished skin
that my body was outlined just for me and not meant to be thin
that maybe the things we feel could be improved are just society whispering in our ear
and that the things that we are scared of are nothing to fear
that maybe the things we change are the things that inevitably make us ... us
that the things we already have are more than enough
that to change the colour of a strand of hair
or to change the style of the clothes we wear
should never change the outlook one has on another
that certain body shapes aren’t simply “made” for the summer
for the ones that truly value us should look at us from the inside out
and the ones who show us to be loved by oneself is the most important form of validation are what life is all about
