I am a Writer
To be a good writer is not about how well you follow "to a t" proper vocabularily, grammer, and punctionation. It is more about you're ability to reach people. The ability to be understood. What is the point of being a communicative species if certain writing is inaccesible to those who haven't learned the "proper way"of writing? So many want to write stories or their opinions on a subject, but are turned off by the fact that they don't meet the "standard". Writing is itself creative, but so often do we find ourselves having to fit into a certain structure of essay, sentence structure, way of story telling, etc, because its what considered proper by schools and "intellectuals". This new found freedom given to us by the creation of the internet is just an advancement of creativity.
Social media has given a voice to the types of people who in the past would of been voiceless. Teens, young adults, and regular people alike. People like you and I. Before you had to be rich or a "story" to be seen by people, to be heard, but now its as easy as posting your thoughts online or turning on the camera. Just because someone isn't "sophisticated", which is not the same as educated mind you, doesn't mean they can't have a voice in society anymore. A world where everyone can be heard, even with the downside of us hearing the wrong people, is better than a world where only a select few can be heard and applauded because a greater few decided they are what ought to be the standard.
