#JUMBLE TONGUE -- 3rd installment complete with a Prize! The topic is "death" which means spiritual or physical "death" in the most creative and abstract play of words you can think of. Could be an act that results in death, the aftermath of death, or the essence of death, a Eulogy for the dead etc. Writer's choice. "Best" piece chosen by a 3 judge panel of myself and 2 others. Winner gets a custom ready-to-hang 16"x20" canvas with their jumble on it! (Feel free to inquire for details.)
Field of Poppies
Wind ceases roiling innards
gusto broken evermore
quoth the raven, claret beak
dust baskets spirited away
polished holders of rank and file
ferried by sad harbingers
talking heads spouting gabfest
chanting lyrics more than 50
toppers perched marbled dome
somber pumpkins
upside down frown
spiky support cushions
damsels’ hooves
tromping loner rank
field of poppies salted drops
stone icons shout, no sound
white images whisper greetings
garbled readings puffing truth
alone at last, God’s acre.
