Reflection on the Residual of Tragedy
What causes one to face the future with fortified faith?
As opposed to treading a trail threaded by terrible trauma?
*This can be about anything--a first fear, surviving a natural disaster, a Holocaust memoir...
One must Twine a Faithful Rope.
Rack one's brain for patience.
Find some calm in there.
Do not ruminate on
all that is unfair.
Don’t rest on one's laurels.
Force fears to submit.
Strike a plan of action.
Don’t slack off. Commit.
Find a niggling cinder,
forge a ray of steel.
Languor must be conquered.
Struggle through to heal.
Kindle everlasting
embers, seeds of hope.
Take that thread and split it.
Twine a faithful rope.
