Heaven’s Knell
Goodnight my friend, my foe. I cannot lie.
Beyond the trees, away out heaven’s door…
For there lies dreams of waking shadows cry,
And hell, it beams holes in my dreams. No more!
The Martyr’s call sails through the night to hell,
And heaven’s angels watch as fires beam.
You must wake in the night to someone’s knell.
Resume your waking sleep inside a dream.
Morning, it comes too late to halt their fate,
And hell still waits by windows in the trees.
In jealousy, eyes gaze at heaven’s gate,
And so your mind may not be quite at ease.
Watching, waiting, by the window, for night.
Heaven is gone, but hell waits by the light.
