Ghost Stories (Part 3)
A groan was heard next to Chris. He looked over, finding Annabeth’s legs against the wall she being strung across the width of Riley’s bed. “I’m so bored!” she exclaimed, flinging her hands up into the air, letting them fall.
The chair to Chris’ desk was rolled away from the wood. “Then why did you agree to come and study if you weren’t actually going to do any studying?” Jackson said, now having the attention of Chris’ gaze.
Chris looked at Riley who had headphones over his ears, plugged into the laptop he was currently using. Chris finnaly understood why.
After the meeting a month ago, the four started to hang out more. Mainly off campus but the other week, the group had decided to hold a study session.
At first, Riley had disagreed with the idea but with some coaxing, he agreed. Finnally though, Chris understood why he wasn’t so enticed by the idea.
Annabeth and Jackson seem to bicker a lot during these as Annabeth complains and that irritates Jackson very quickly.
The two continued to have an argument, Chris trying his best to ignore the two. He was nose deep in his book, trying to focus; but he himself was only so patient.
His eyes slid over to Annabeth’s, catching her gaze. She was quiet for a moment before she asked, “What?”
Chris looked back at his book, saying, “Quiet down.”
A small “eep!” commenced and he looked in the direction of the noise. Annabeth was now suddenly quiet, a notebook open in her lap.
Chris’ eyes then looked at Jackson. He caught the brown orbs staring at him before immediately turning away and back to the desk.
Finnally, his eyes fell back to the pages in his book. He knew people found him intimidating with his broad structure, icy stare, and abundance in height, but he didn’t think he would frighten his new found friends. You learn something knew everyday I suppose.
He quite enjoyed hanging out with this group. Jackson wasn’t so bashful once he got used to you, he was charming and gentle instead of an iron wall.
Annabeth was definitely eccentric. Despite her femine and kind look, she was actually very dark and blunt.
Chris smiled to himself, the warm gesture hidden behind his book.
Maybe this year wouldn’t be so boring after all.
