Essie and Glicko

Glicko stood over the unconscious mage, relieved that their battle was over. The warlock hidden by a cloak was victorious, but barely. If the young woman had attacked him with one more of her spells, he would be the fallen one.

Glicko sensed the heroes he had defeated earlier on the other side of the jungle. The man dressed like a pirate, the boy with the dark helmet and armor, and the mage Cerissa whose memory he had tampered with were apparently exiting together. He was aware of their plans, to use a place called the Reflection Dimension to try and restore the people his curse was turning into monsters. Glicko questioned why the heroes thought this would affect his operations, as he was only transforming evil people. Should the monsters remain evil in the Reflection Dimension, they would not return to this plane of existence, which just meant his plan of exposing the scum of the world through his mutation curse was working to weed them out. The Pirate and crew were only going to make his schemes more efficient.

There was the issue of them seeking a cure. That could prove to be a problem. A cure would mean that the evil ones would no longer be held accountable for their actions, and he couldn't have that. Glicko mulled it over for a moment, and decided it wasn't an immediate concern. He would keep an eye on the situation though.

Now for the mage that was unconscious. He could kill her, but she could be useful later. Glicko decided to wipe her memory too, but he would allow her to remember that her name was Essie, that she was a mage that would need to relearn her spells just like Cerissa, and that he was the warlock that took her memory away. Glicko looked forward to seeing what Essie decided to do with the little information he was leaving her with. Then he departed to seek more evildoers to mutate....

To be continued....
