When I think about my childhood I smell
Fresh mown grass
My grandparents’ old house
Bread baking
Parsley
Cold evening air
Woodsmoke
Feijoas
Sandalwood
Petrichor
And the very dull, musty scent of cooking flour ...
I really did regret sniffing that.
