sometimes i

hate the word

potential.

people use it like it's a good thing.

"you have so much potential"

but then they weaponize it:

"if only you'd use it."

potential,

it's all about potential

isn't there something else this world

should be looking for?

we focus on the potential for good,

but there's always

the potential for evil

too.

there's the potential to create a masterpiece

like a sculpture or a book

but there's also the potential

to create pain and death.

maybe we should stop focusing

on potential

and start focusing on what is.

maybe once we get rid of that

pressure

we'll start having less

of the wrong kind

of potential.
